Q1. Will the staff need to use both 99DOTS for adherence monitoring and Nikshay V 2.0 for notification?
Answer: NO. 99DOTS is merged into Nikshay V 2.0 platform. The adherence calendar is visible inside Nikshay in the patient page and the overall adherence calendar for a district/TU/PHI can be also viewed from the Patient Management menu. Standalone 99DOTS Web site and App will no longer be available for use. This unification will reduce staff burden as they will NOW ONLY USE one platform - Nikshay V 2.0 for registration, patient management, and adherence monitoring.
Q2. Will there be duplicate patients (same patient who was in 99DOTS and in Nikshay V 1.0) in Nikshay V 2.0?
Answer: CTD had requested to validate all patients on 99DOTS with Nikshay Id (the same 99DOTS patient that was added on Nikshay 1 too). This task was done to ensure that while we merge 99DOTS patient data with Nikshay V 1.0 data, duplicates are avoided. So, all 99DOTS patients who were validated in 99DOTS and got successfully merged with their Nikshay V 1.0 Ids will be visible under the Patient Management menu in the On-Treatment list and Calendar view in Nikshay V 2.0.
IMPORTANT: 99DOTS Patients who were not validated with Nikshay Ids, either because they were not available in Nikshay 1, or staff missed to validate them, can still be seen under the Unvalidated (99DOTS) menu in Nikshay V 2.0 Web Dashboard only. ALL Unvalidated cases will not be migrated to Nikshay V 2.0 and they have to do re-entry.
NOTE: some 99DOTS patients who were validated by staff could not be merged with their Nikshay 1 Ids because of incorrect/missing data (especially Diagnosis data) in Nikshay 1. While we attempted to merge this data, there were conflicts, and merge failed. So those patients are also visible in the Unvalidated (99DOTS) menu.
Q3. Will ART continue to use 99DOTS to register TB-HIV +ve co-infected patients?
Answer: NO. ART will also use Nikshay V 2.0 web dashboard to register patients. They should continue using the same username and password they were using on 99DOTS to log in to the Nikshay V 2.0 web dashboard.
Q4. Will I be able to see adherence calendar for all patients put on Nikshay V 2.0?
Answer: NO. Adherence calendar will be visible for patients whose Treatment has been initiated in Nikshay V 2.0. and their status shows On Treatment (Notified). Unless the patient is started on treatment (treatment card initiated - Test details and then Treatment Details entered) in Nikshay V 2.0. you will not see the adherence calendar for the patient. Also, while starting treatment, you can select what type of Adherence Technology you are putting the patient on.
Q5. Will all new patients in Nikshay V 2.0 be put on 99DOTS/MERM?
All patients for where there are Envelopes/MERM boxes available and sites that are currently registering for 99DOTS/MERM adherence monitoring should continue as they are doing now. In Nikshay V 2.0, there is an option in the registration workflow (see attached poster) to assign an Adherence Technology. For patients to be put on 99DOTS, the 99DOTS radio button must be selected and for patients to be put on MERM, the MERM radio button must be selected so that adherence can be tracked by the staff.
Q6. Will SMS continue to go out for 99DOTS patients?
YES. Staff (as per their staff linkage) will still be notified of new patient enrollment in Nikshay V 2.0 AND 99DOTS is selected as the Adherence Monitoring mechanism for the patient . Patients on 99DOTS will continue to receive reminder SMSs about their adherence. Patients who are not put on 99DOTS adherence technology will NOT receive SMS at this time.
